Auburn University is not only a very important part of the area's education and workforce but also offers a heck of a lot of fun! Auburn University is the home of the 2010 BCS National Championship Football team, the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner, the NCAA national championship swimming team in both men's and womens's for many years, and home of multi-year award winning Capital One Bowl mascot contest winner -- Aubie the tiger. We have a lot of fun tailgaiting and celebrating our sports.
Auburn is also home to one of the most prominent Veterinary schools in the South, and one of the top agricultural and engineering researchers in our area, all consistently ranking among the Nation's best. Our researchers and scientists have played a huge role in bio-fuel development as well as clearning up the tragic oil spill that has affected our state. Read more about Auburn University research.
With around 25,000 students and 1,200 faculty working in both Undergrad, graduate, and PhD level programs, the University is one of the largest in the state.
